Coach Stores: Flagships, Full-Price Boutiques and What to Look For
Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, as reported in Tapestry’s annual report. The breakdown is 336 stores in North America and 637 internationally. A figure of about 1,299 stores also circulates, but that number counts all of Tapestry’s brands rather than Coach on its own. By some accounts, Tapestry has said it plans around 50 net new Coach stores in fiscal 2027, roughly three quarters of them beyond North America. The network spans flagship Coach House locations, everyday full-price boutiques, concessions within department stores and Coach Outlet stores. A shopper looking for a coach store could as a result find anything from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. In what follows, the best-documented locations are examined city by city, with a clear warning wherever a store’s current status still needs checking.
| Site | Store format | Current status for September 2026 | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York, 685 Fifth Avenue | Coach House flagship store | Opened in 2016; planned move to 645 Fifth Avenue targeted for 2027 | Check the locator before you visit |

| Tokyo, Ginza | Flagship | Reported to have reopened in December 2025 | First Japanese flagship opened in 2002 |

New York and the Fifth Avenue Coach House
Coach was set up in New York in 1941, and its coach tote outlet home city houses its most recognised flagship. In honour of the brand’s 75th anniversary, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue opened in the fall of 2016. Created with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield, it was reported to span about 20,000 square feet over three floors. That address is not a permanent home, however, because Coach has reportedly leased about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House. Coach is targeting 2027 for the proposed move, while David Yurman is said to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space ahead of an expected opening in early 2029. Check Coach’s store locator before any special trip, as it remains unconfirmed whether the current store is still trading on a given day. Also listed on the locator is a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London and the Regent Street Coach House
Unveiled in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House sits at 200–206 Regent Street. Studio Sofield was also behind the design of the London store, giving it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. A Craftsmanship Bar offering monogramming and personalisation was mentioned in coverage at the time. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly take around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks with exotic skins; a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag was reported too. Watch out for the wrong opening year: one retail-district listing bears a much later page date, and some writers have been misled by it. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry said that the UK, alongside some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material penetration, according to a published transcript. Anyone planning a personalisation appointment should confirm which services are currently offered before visiting.
Tokyo: The Ginza Flagship
Coach’s Japanese flagship is found in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The first Japanese flagship opened there in 2002, and the store was refurbished in 2015. It reopened on 19 December 2025 after a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY, according to reports of the relaunch. For services, Japan also matters: select Japanese stores reportedly take part in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Gently used all-leather retail bags are reportedly accepted under the scheme, while outlet items and canvas pieces are not accepted. Check with the store before you bring a bag in, since the participating Japanese stores were not confirmed. As with every flagship in this guide, it is best to check opening hours and services shortly before you go.
Hong Kong, Chongqing and an Outdated Shanghai Record in Greater China
Records for Coach’s large stores in Greater China are patchier than those for New York or London. A record that is now dated notes that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. It was not possible to verify its current status, which means the Shanghai store cannot be assumed to be open today. Coach has also been reported to run a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Opening dates for those two stores also went unverified. Among Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, 637 are international, but the annual report does not break that figure down city by city. Before travelling, rely on Coach’s local store locator over older press coverage.
British Boutiques and Concessions
Aside from Regent Street, full-price stores are shown on Coach’s UK store locator at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf provide further London locations. Beyond London, the documented full-price store is located at the Bullring in Birmingham. Coach also sells through concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. No confirmed store was found in Manchester, Edinburgh or other cities, so verify before assuming a local branch exists. For anyone searching coach uk locations, this list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing. Each listed store has its own page on Coach’s UK website, which is the safest place to confirm hours and services.
Coach Outlet Stores
Coach’s store locator labels Coach Outlet stores as outlets, and they are part of Coach’s own network instead of being run by independent discounters. In most cases, these stores sit in outlet centres; in the United States, Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common. Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet each have a confirmed Coach Outlet store in Great Britain. Check before travelling to York Designer Outlet, since a store there has been reported but not confirmed. Outlet stock is partly produced for the outlet channel, and the only share figure found, around 85%, dates from 2014, so today’s mix remains unknown. Assortments also feature earlier-season styles and, under the reported “One Coach” strategy, some full-price collection product. Anyone planning a coach outlet trip should review current offers first, because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.
What to Expect Inside a Coach Store
A full-price coach store centres on the current handbag range, while also stocking small leather goods, clothing and shoes. Among the recognisable bag families in 2026 are the Tabby (introduced in 2019), the Brooklyn (first released in August 2024) and the Empire Carryall (released in February 2025). Observed US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are market observations rather than an official price list. The (Re)Loved trade-in is offered in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, so it is available in selected stores. Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, reportedly covers both Coach and Coach Outlet, so one membership extends to both formats. Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, which makes a receipt from a Coach store helpful evidence of where a coach bag came from. Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013, is still Creative Director in 2026 and leads the creative direction.
Planning a Visit
Especially while the New York flagship is preparing to move, a little preparation prevents wasted journeys. Since Coach’s store locator separates full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations, start with the version for the country you are visiting. Check your bag is all leather rather than canvas, and that the specific store participates, if you want a trade-in. It pays to ask beforehand whether the service is running when you need personalisation or made-to-order work. Tourist tax-free shopping in Great Britain came to an end on 1 January 2021, so visitors to Britain can expect no VAT refund to plan around. Each receipt records where a bag was bought should questions arise later, so keep them all. Review current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.
- On the day you set out, consult the store locator.
- Make sure participation and eligibility for a trade-in.
- Any personalisation service should be booked in advance.
- Anything you buy needs a receipt filed away.
